GRINDING

Grind size

  • A too coarse grind will reduce the contact time of the water and coffee which increase sour flavour.
  • A too fine grind will increase the contact time of the water and coffee which increase bitter flavour.
  • Adjusting the grinder to the right grind size will improve the extraction and strength of your espresso.
  • Coffee losing 60% of its aromas within 15 minutes of grinding, on demand grinders are much better than dosing grinder.
  • If you are using a dosing grinder, make sure that you grind as you go, mostly during slow time.
